Typography Love
Typography Love is the latest design style that we’ve released only a few days ago on our Fancy store. If you’re a self-confessed “typophile” like many I know (including little moi) you are going to love this new design. This sepia, old school piece embraces the so loved art of typography, where love for letters simply explode out of an old typewriter into a type cloud, giving you a nice and warm message together with your favourite face. Got a better message for your type cloud? No dramas, the message can be modified to whatever you like, as long as it’s similar in length. Now, as with all our other work, we’d like to point out that as much as we love our digital screens, they just don’t do justice to the bigger print...
Read MoreEducation and animation (RSA Animate)
Since I first heard Sir Ken Robinson talking about education and how our current (and ancient old) education system actually squanders children’s creativity as a whole, I thought: At last, the start of a so needed revolution in the education system. If you have kids, I urge you to have a look at some of his ideas on education, it makes perfect sense and actually makes us all want to contribute with actions towards a new education style. Today I came across this animation. I have never seen the RSA Animate in action before, so maybe I’m impressed because it’s Sir Ken Robison speaking music to my ears, or more interested because pretty much all his words are described with this amazingly well done animation. Needless to say I’m a visual...
Read MoreMake something cool everyday
Over the last few years there was this thing going on in the design community where a designer would make one cool design per day and record the 365 designs in a blog. It’s a very nice concept, if you Google Make Something Cool Everyday (MSCE) you’ll find a few different ones. But today I came across this particular one which made me laugh. It’s by Brock Davis and what I like about it is that it was around his workplace as well as other places – and not only design. So, it has not only design pieces but other things like, music, photos, drawings, and other funny things. I hope it will amuse you as much as it did me! Scrolling down those entries I thought “I’m sure some days of this year he just tried to find ANYTHING that he...
Read MoreBut in the end it’s right
Today I woke up with this song in my head – I don’t know why. Must be because I have something on today that I have been looking forward to for a long time. For a few months now I have been trying to reach to a few asylum seekers and offer my help. Mind you, that has proven to be quite a difficult task. I’ll explain why in another post. This is about today. I’m going to be taken for the first time to the Villawood Detention Centre, in western Sydney. There I’ll get to meet some of the people I’ve been wanting to reach and help for quite a few months. Very exciting. I’m sure just my presence there will make a difference in someone’s state of mind. Have a great...
Read MoreCouture, Couture, Couture.
Last week, for the first time, I had the pleasure to visit a milliner’s atelier. Have you ever been to one? Well, if you haven’t just make sure you put it in that “things to do before I die” list. I have to admit it, I was extremely privileged because the milliner in question here is known as the best in her game in Sydney. Of course we’re talking about Wendi Nutt from Philadelphia Philpot, who, amazingly, has never repeated a design in over 20 years. Whether you’re into couture fashion, spring carnival or simply just gorgeous hats and head pieces I’m sure you would have heard of Wendi. She designs hats for the fabulous and famous in Australia, and has a massive catalogue of photos to show off and leave anyone wishing...

We’re very proud here at Fancy headquarters today because we’ve made news in the Southern Courier Magazine this week. Thanks again to everyone that supports, works and appreciates what we create at Fancy Little Me! xoxo Lety Kemp
Read MoreiPhone, iWork and iStress
Two weeks ago I had to write a speech on something I was really passionate about, so I talked about technology and work-life balance. This was the result: iPhone, iWork and iStress. Full speech: You’d think the advance of technology would make life much easier leading people to work less, but reality is that exactly the opposite seems to be happening with our modern society. It seems that this constant access to work, via technology, is increasingly leading people to be overloaded, anxious, dependent and stressed. So, it begs the question, why are we working harder? Well, after reading some interesting research proving that in Australia we are working harder than ever before and some other interesting hard facts, I got to my own conclusions. I think there...
